Death Stranding is the 2019 game from Kojima Productions. Hideo Kojima, formerly a member of Konami is now an independent contractor working with Sony and his first game since the meltdown between Konami and Kojima. The game has an all-star cast and some super impressive motion capture work of these stars. Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Troy Baker, Lindsey Wagner even Conan O’ Brien is in this game.
The game is about life and death and a space between them both. What would happen if you could travel between them? What if someone caused chaos by opening doors never meant to be opened? What if you with a special ability and a few good friends had to save the race from extinction? One connection at a time you work on rebuilding the UCA, or United Cites of America and the simple premise sets some awesome obstacles in your way. Mountains, rain, BTs from the land of the dead, Mules, who are basically terrorists who want what you are carrying. You have bb, a baby stuck between the living and dead world to help you navigate around the invaders from Death looking to pull you under. All this sounds strange, well it is. All this in a beautifully rendered world of science fiction and I was totally sucked in.
You later can build guns, motorcycles, armor plates, bridges, and roads. You get help from what others have built and left for you. You can give them “likes” for the help and all the “likes” you can use as a currency to level up.
I completed the story of this game in about 60 hours. I played it on ps4 but it is also coming to PC in June. This game should not be missed by those wanting something different.
