Xenoblade Chronicles 2

This jrpg is one of the best games on the Nintendo Switch. You follow Rex as he gets entangled in the strange world where Titans are the world, living beings are tools of destruction and the connection of these “blades” to their owners called “drivers” . The story is functional and it kept me engaged. The battle system is fun as the “blades” each offer different abilities and powers. You group up with others who also have their “blades” and the party system compliments each other and is fun to listen to them banter as they battle together.

The game has 10 chapter, which takes about 60 hours to complete roughly and more if you try and see everything on the maps. The worlds are varied and beautiful and the visuals are very impressive. The voice acting is not annoying for the most part and the monsters and bosses are fun. The difficulty is hard at times but there is always the option of dropping to easy mode at anytime. I found most the battles fair to easy but a few bosses took a few times to beat.

The game is isolated from the first Xenoblade so do not feel you need to play that one ahead of this one. All in all if you enjoy jrpgs this is an outstanding addition and a must own.

There is a substantial dlc called,”Torna-The Golden Country” that adds another 40 hours and changes up some gameplay mechanics and is highly recommended by my son!
