Ghost Recon Breakpoint

This is a game that is very similar to Ghost Recon Wildlands. It came out in a poor state but after all the updates and fixes it is now a very good game. Wildlands came out in the same state and took about a year to get it to be ready for primetime. Ubisoft hurt both these titles by releasing them early and unfinished. They both are showing rather low scores, with Breakpoint looking like a lousy game and that is a shame because that is just not the truth now.

Breakpoint you end up crashing on an island controlled by highly tech-savvy and rich group of paramilitary looking to perfect some drone tech that could give them the upper hand in warfare. The main protagonist is acted by Jon Bernthal, and he does a good job of being the ultra military muscle in this game. Just as in Wildlands, you can also have 3 support AI help you and in co-op, you can have 3 friends join in. You have a huge map and a lot of missions and blips on the map in typical Ubisoft fashion.

When comparing this to Wildlands it is very similar but better looking and more quality of life additions added to the game. I also enjoyed the story more and you have more control of what weapons and vehicles you want to use. The shooting is tight, explosions are many and the battles are enjoyable and the options are numerous on how difficult you want your experience. They really went all-in on settings on the PC so you can tune the game to fit your style.

I put about 70 hours in the game and completed the story and all the blips on the map except for some random missions. I believe they never stop just to keep you entertained if you want to continue the game. There is some special missions in the game, one hunting Terminators, some Ghost Recon cross over etc. There is also DLC to add more stories and missions to the game but I think I have had my fill.

All in all a really solid shooter with a decent story and a huge map to explore.
