Fallout New Vegas

An old game that should be remastered as it is a great game!

I have played Fallout and Fallout 2 from Interplay. I messed with Fallout Tactics and then Fallout 3 came along and blew my mind. I loved the world and atmosphere and exploration in the game. The one game in the series I never dug deep into was New Vegas by Obsidian. I always heard good things and I started it but it never stuck. I decided to go back and play this game and I am so glad I dug in. Yes, it is older and dated, but the gameplay and the story are solid and exciting.

You have a long journey through Vegas as you discover different groups of survivors and creatures and robots who either want to kill you or need your help. You have some interesting companions to join you and help on your journey. There is a range of weapons, skills, and upgrades as in all the Fallout games. The quests in the game are varied and fun. Some serious thought was put into them and it shows. The engine is from Fallout 3 so the visuals are similar. There are some mods to improve the gameplay and stability and I do recommend checking into those. Pc gamer has an article on how to get the most out of this old game in visuals and it makes it run better on newer pcs. ( I posted the link at the bottom of the page.) If you own an Xbox it is upscaled and on gamepass. The Nevada setting and the Vegas Strip are awesome and the exploration is a high point in this game. Plenty of Vaults to uncover and explore.

The DLC for New Vegas is not to be missed! It is some of the best additional stories and upgrades in the game. Some are rather difficult but beating them was rewarding. Not to mention it gives you some of the better equipment and weapons in the game.

All in all, if you are a Fallout fan and are waiting patiently for Fallout 5 ( a long way off !!) then I say be sure to play this and enjoy the game that was supposed to just be DLC to Fallout 3. It has plenty to keep you busy for nearly 100 hours and is a worthy Fallout game. Many consider it the best of the bunch. It is also a cheap purchase nowadays!!!!!
