Horizon Forbidden West

Horizon Forbidden West is the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn and continues Aloy’s journey. I have 125 hours in it and have completed the game and even received the platinum trophy. I enjoyed this game and have focused on it since getting my PS 5. I was hooked on the story and the excellent gameplay mechanics of chipping away at more robot dinosaurs.

Aloy is forced to move to the Forbidden West to unite the tribes and has found that she is up against a group focused on ending Earth and time is ticking. For this chapter, she will need a lot of help and a lot of players to save the planet.

Her skill tree is improved, you have many choices, and the weapons are lethal once upgraded. The quests are pretty interesting with few fetch quests excluding the traders who need specific things brought to them. There is racing, melee arenas, and even flight in this game! The world is large, varied, and beautiful and I found this game to really shine and show the power of the PS 5.

There is something satisfying in stunning a creature with electric arrows and then blowing parts off them with an exploding spear!

I loved the world and the secrets hidden in it. I love having a choice of going in stealthy and avoiding detection or going in blazing my weapons and skills. The variety of creatures and the different powers they possess was fun to conquer. The story is satisfying and kept me in the world. I ended up completing all the side quests and cleaning up all the question marks before finishing the last quest.

If I had to find any flaws it might be it felt pretty easy near the end with fully upgraded gear. But who doesn’t enjoy being a badass?

After completing this, I reloaded Horizon Zero Dawn and completed the DLC. Then I continued the game and Platted that one as well. Guess I really enjoy this series and can not wait for the next installment.

Horizon FW Burning Shores:

This DLC adds more to our story and was great! More Aloy, more story, and more giant robot dinos to kill. If you are a fan of this series I would say this content is not to be missed.

It adds 15-20 hours of gameplay and a strong story. New armor, weapons, and a new land to explore. All in all, it is a great DLC.
