I played about 20 hours when this came out and thought it was ok. After playing some Starfield, I decided to reinstall this and see what is new.
The game has many improvements and is now flushed out with so many layers. It has exploration and discovery, ship battles, strange new creatures, planets, relics, and hidden goodies, and upgrades to ships, subs, and rovers.
The gameplay is set up to constantly have you invested in improving your bases, ships, and gear, and it grows to freighters, colonies, bases, etc. It definitely has an enjoyable loop but also means it is a game you can play for many months. Truly addictive gameplay and fun. The story is there but it is not the main pull in this game.
The graphics is not Starfield but not too cartoony either. You get to trade, mine, complete missions to earn money. Later you can have whole mining operations and settlements who are farming and they all are working to fill your coffers. It is a game you can get lost in and Hello Games redemption story of this title is earned. They promised a lot and at this point, they have delivered.
Played on pc with a Nvidia 3060ti.
